There are plenty of amazing cars on film. From James Bond’s Aston Martin to the Batmobile most of our movie heroes and villains travel in style. But some of the less fortunate characters have had to make do with some pretty big pieces of junk.
#7 Ace Ventura’s ’72 Chevrolet Monte Carlo – Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

He might be the worlds greatest pet detective but Ace didnt have the sweet wheels of other great detectives like Batman or even Eddie Valiant’s cartoon cab. This Finkle was definitely an Einhorn.
#6 Wayne and Garth’s 176 AMC Pacer – Wayne’s World
While it did have a Red Vine dispenser and awesome flames on the sides this junker was definitely no “schwing”.
#5 Uncle Rico’s 1975 Dodge Tradesman Van – Napoleon Dynamite

Maybe this van was awesome back in ’82 just like Uncle Rico himself. Rico could throw a pigskin a mile and burnt orange and brown was a great color scheme for anyone outside the Cleveland Browns organization.
#4 The Griswold family’s 1983 Wagon Queen Family Truckster – National Lampoon’s Vacation
Vacation may be all you ever wanted but you definitely don’t want to go in this land barge so junky they had to invent it specifically for the film. Thankfully the days of wood paneling on cars are over, go for Christie Brinkley’s Ferrari instead.
#3 Tommy Boy’s 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX – Tommy Boy
This classic started out the movie pretty cherry, but melted chocolate inside the dash does not actually up the resale value, and neither does a deer in the backseat.
#2 Jake and Elwood Blues’ 1974 Dodge Monaco Squad Car – The Blues Brothers
Don’t get us wrong the Bluesmobile was awesome, and got Jake and Elwood to the assessor’s office ahead of… well pretty much everyone in the state of Illinois. However by the end of the movie it had seen better days, much, much better days.
#1 The Dude’s 1973 Ford Torino – The Big Lebowski
What can be said about the Dude’s car? It starts off horrible and only gets worse. Its one part of a cautionary tale of sorts as the wheels match their owner. You don’t go out looking for a job dressed like that? On a weekday?
If you have a car like this one, we are sorry. Two maybe its time for an upgrade? You can donate your car like these guys should have done and find yourself your own batmobile.
